You are My Kaahu
You Are a Kaahu
You’re likely here because someone sees you as their Kaahu and that’s no small thing.
But what does it mean to be a Kaahu?
In Hawaiian folklore, a Kaahu is more than a guardian. She is a companion, a protector for the people she loves. A Kaahu holds space without holding on. She shows up, not to own but to uplift.
So how do you know if you’ve been someone’s Kaahu?
Maybe it was:
Through laughter, breakdowns, long texts, and long hugs — your Kaahu is your person. The one who stays.
The Kaahu Chain: How It Works
At House of Kaahu, we wanted to celebrate these everyday guardians. Women who are your lifelines, your cheerleaders. As life catches up we often lose touch with these women in our life, so this is your reminder to let your person know how much you cherish them.
Here’s how to be part of it:
You’ve received a Kaahu bag because someone sees you as their person. Use it for two weeks. Carry it on solo walks, to late brunches, or weekend trips. Let it be a part of your everyday moments.
Inside the bag, you’ll find postcards. Take one out, and write a note for your Kaahu, maybe, a memory, a secret, a blessing. Something just for her.
When your two weeks are up, pass the bag to your Kaahu. Email us with your and your Kaahu’s shipping address at care@kaahu.us and we’ll send you a prepaid shipping label to make it easy.
Share your moment on Instagram and tag @houseofkaahu with the hashtag #YouAreMyKaahu. We’ll feature your story and keep the chain going.
This is more than a bag.
It’s a journey.
From woman to woman.
From heart to heart.
You are a Kaahu. And now, you get to choose yours.
With love
Team Kaahu
