Orders & Shipping

Can I cancel or update my order?

You can cancel or update your order before it ships. Just email us at care@kaahu.us with your order number. If your order has already shipped, we’ll guide you through the return process.

What is your return policy?

You have 90 days from delivery to initiate a return. Email us at care@kaahu.us and we’ll send you a return label.

  • In original, unworn condition
  • With tags attached
  • In original packaging, including the dust bag

Refunds are issued to the original method of payment once your return is received.

Do you offer exchanges?

We don’t offer exchanges after an order has shipped. If you’d like a different item, place a new order and return the original.

How can I check my order status?

Do you ship internationally?

We currently ship within the United States, excluding the following territories:

  • Micronesia
  • Guam
  • Marshall Islands
  • Palau
  • U.S. Virgin Islands

We’re working toward international shipping soon.

How long will my order take to arrive?

With free shipping, orders typically arrive within 5–8 business days.

What is Kaahu?

Kaahu is rooted in the Hawaiian idea of a guardian—someone who walks alongside, not ahead. We design bags that reflect care, connection, and craft.

What makes Kaahu sustainable?

We work with natural fibers like jute, organic cotton, and juco. Our production is low-waste, labor-conscious, and built to last. Through our partnership with 1% for the Planet, a portion of every sale goes toward environmental work around the world.

What materials do you use?
  • Organic canvas: A sturdy cotton textile grown without harmful chemicals
  • Jute: A rain-fed, low-impact fiber
  • Juco: A woven blend of jute and cotton that balances structure and softness
Are your products vegan?

Yes. All Kaahu products are made without animal-derived materials.

How do I care for my Kaahu bag?

You’ll find detailed care instructions on our Care Page. A few small steps can go a long way in keeping your bag well.

Is your packaging eco-friendly?

Yes. Our packaging is recyclable and plastic-free. We use:

  • Recycled paper boxes
  • Water-activated paper tape
  • Algae ink (carbon-negative) for printing

Every element is chosen to minimize waste while protecting your bag in transit.

Why jute and organic cotton?
  • Jute: Grows with minimal water and no pesticides
  • Organic cotton: Preserves soil health and reduces runoff
  • Juco: Offers breathability, strength, and natural beauty—well-suited to lasting design
What inspires Kaahu designs?

Each collection reflects a specific story—from endangered species to lost symbols of the natural world. We’ve honored the Orca whale, the extinct Huia bird, and others as quiet reminders of what’s still worth protecting.

Are Kaahu products ethically made?

Yes. We partner with manufacturers who prioritize ethical labor and sustainability across every step of production.

Why do products vary slightly?

We use natural fabrics. Subtle variations in color, weave, or finish may appear—these reflect the organic nature of our materials and the hand-finishing of each piece.

Can I add a gift message?

Yes. Enter your message in the Order Instructions box at checkout, and we’ll include it in the shipment.

Not at the moment, but it’s something we’re exploring.
