Order and Shipping

Can I cancel or update my order after it’s placed?

Yes! Before your order ships out, just shoot us an email at care@kaahu.us with your order number, and we’ll take care of it. If the order is shipped, we will not be able to cancel the order, but it will be covered in our return policy. We will work with you to make sure we do right by you.

What is your return policy?

We want you to love your purchase, but if it’s not quite right, no worries! You have 90 days to initiate a return. Simply email us at care@kaahu.us, and we’ll send you a return label. Once the item makes its way back to us, we’ll process a refund. Please note that refunds will be issued in the original form of payment.
Please make sure to return the item in original unworn condition, with tags attached, undamaged packaging, including but not limited to, dust bag.

How do I return or exchange my order?

We don’t offer exchanges once an order has shipped. If you’d like a different item, simply place a new order and email us at care@kaahu.us to start the return process for the original one.

How can I check the status of my order?

You can anytime track your order at the Order History page within your account.

Do you ship internationally?

We currently ship to the United States, excluding the following regions of the United States:

You will receive your order typically in 5-8 business days, if you have chosen free shipping.

What makes Kaahu a sustainable brand?

At Kaahu, sustainability is at the core of everything we do. We use eco-friendly materials like organic cotton, jute, and juco, ensuring our products leave a light footprint on the planet. What materials are used in your products?

At Kaahu, we rely on sustainable materials like organic canvas, derived from organic cotton, and juco, a blend of jute and cotton. These thoughtfully chosen fabrics offer durability while minimizing environmental impact, ensuring that each piece remains both functional and eco-conscious.

Are your products vegan?

Yes, all our products are vegan! We ensure that no animal-derived materials are used in any of our designs, so you can feel good about your purchase.

How do I properly care for and clean my Kaahu bags?

Are your packaging materials eco-friendly?

Yes! We use eco-friendly, recyclable packaging materials to reduce waste and stay true to our sustainability goals. Every element—from the recycled boxes to the wrapping—is designed with care. We use water-activated tape (WAT), made with a 100% biodegradable adhesive, and our tape is paper-based. We also use algae ink to print on our tape because algae ink is carbon-negative; using it is equivalent to planting trees. Every drop of algae ink means that much less reliance on petroleum products.

Why did you choose to focus on jute and organic cotton?

We selected jute and organic cotton (including organic canvas and juco) for their environmental benefits, durability, and natural aesthetics.
Jute: A low-impact crop that requires little water and no chemical pesticides, making it eco-friendly. It is also strong and breathable, ideal for accessories. Juco, a blend of jute and cotton, offers enhanced durability while maintaining a lightweight feel.
Organic Cotton (and Canvas): Grown without harmful chemicals, organic cotton helps preserve soil health and protect ecosystems. Organic canvas offers strength and flexibility, perfect for everyday use. It’s biodegradable, breathable, and soft, making it both functional and sustainable.


What is the inspiration behind Kaahu’s designs?

Our designs draw deeply from the Hawaiian philosophy behind the word Kaahu, which reflects an intimate relationship between guardian and nature—companionship, not mastery, over the planet. This spirit of connection guides everything we create.
Each collection is inspired by wildlife, nature, and personal experiences. We focus on species that symbolize resilience, like the Orca whale, and honor those that have been lost, such as extinct birds like the Huia, whose feathers were cherished for their beauty. These animals remind us of the importance of protecting biodiversity and inspire us to make sustainable choices.
Our products blend vibrant colors, thoughtful patterns, and meaningful stories, helping us share a deeper message: living in harmony with the world while appreciating the beauty that surrounds us.

Does Kaahu follow ethical manufacturing practices?

Our products are made through labor-friendly production processes that ensure fair working conditions. We work with manufacturers who prioritize ethical practices and sustainability, reflecting our values in every step of the production process.

Why is some variance observed across products?

Because natural fibers are used, slight variances in texture, color, etc. might be observed. Natural materials, like cotton linen, may crease differently, adding a unique touch to each of these handcrafted pieces. Slight irregularities, like minor glue issues or small imperfections, can occur and are built into the nature of these fibers.

Yes! Simply add your gift message in the order instructions section in your cart, and we’ll include it with your package.
